- Submission data: Business name, city, state, website, phone, and contact email when you submit or claim a listing.
- Communications: Any correspondence you send to us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, and click patterns.
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
- IP address and approximate geographic location.
- Engagement data: When you mark a listing as Been Here, Want to Go, or Added to List (stored anonymously unless you are signed in).
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the directory service and your account.
- Send magic link emails for passwordless authentication.
- Process and review listing submissions and claims.
- Send account-related transactional emails (sign-in links, submission confirmations).
- Send marketing emails about the directory, with your consent where required.
- Analyze site usage to improve the directory and user experience.
- Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent submissions.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and user data storage.
- Vercel — website hosting and edge delivery.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (magic links, confirmations).
- Google — Maps embed and Places API for listing enrichment; AdSense for advertising.
- OpenStreetMap contributors — source of base listing data (public, no personal data shared).
- Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may transfer as part of that transaction.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), access controls via row-level security (Supabase RLS), and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the site. Data is aggregated where possible.
- Advertising cookies: Google AdSense may set cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will affect sign-in functionality.

- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your personal data and account.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
