Elixr's competition record is one of the strongest in Pennsylvania. The roastery's staff placed 2nd at the 2018 United States Barista Championship and 3rd in 2019, while the roasting team reached the US Roasting Championship finals in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Additional recognition includes a first-place finish at the 2017 Coffee Champs Reno Roasters Competition, second place at the 2018 Americas Best Espresso in Baltimore, a Krups Best Brew Award, and a Business Insider listing among the 50 best cafés in the United States. The original Center City location, described by the NY Daily News as "hidden in a tiny alley off Walnut Street" with a "sleek wood-and-steel interior," set the aesthetic register for the broader Elixr footprint. Guests across locations can expect a light-roast-forward espresso bar, a rotating single-origin filter offering, and retail bags of current microlots. The Nashville and State College outposts extend that format beyond Philadelphia, and the airport terminal café — open daily from 4:30 a.m. — suggests the brand has enough operational confidence to run high-volume, early-morning service alongside its more contemplative café locations.
