Tandem Coffee Roasters is a specialty roaster and café based in Portland, Maine, built around a single-origin program and identified by the tandem bicycle motif woven through its branding and bag design. The founding date and founder names aren't publicly documented in available sources, but the operation has been a fixture in Portland's specialty scene since at least the early 2010s, roasting coffee in-house at what Portland Food Map described as a small building turned into 'an excellent coffee haven.'

By 2014, Tandem was already expanding: Daily Coffee News reported the roaster was readying a second Portland location with a dedicated bakery component, signaling ambitions beyond a single-café model. That same year the operation took home a Good Food Award, an early signal that the sourcing and roasting quality was drawing national notice.

Tandem's current lineup is producer-forward and geographically diverse. The rotation includes Armando Hurtado's SL-9 natural from Cusco, Peru (tasting notes of citrus florals, tropical fruit, and velvety texture), a Chiroso from Uriel Cardona in Colombia (papaya, lime, panela), a washed Banko Gotiti from Gedeb's Gotiti station in Ethiopia (limeade, tangerine, lemongrass), a Pink Bourbon field blend from Faver Ninco in Colombia's Central Huila, and a Gedion Venero Inca Gesha from Peru.
