Best Coffee Roasters in New York
New York's roasters range from Brooklyn micro-roasteries that publish each producer's name to Queens café groups that roast for their own bars. Every roaster below roasts in New York City. For each one we checked its own website for the coffees it sells and found at least one independent source, such as an award, a competition result or a press feature.

How we chose
How we chose these roasters: we started from every roaster in the PremiumRoast directory for the city and removed chains, non-roasters and duplicate listings. We kept only roasters that (1) have a working website, (2) show at least two specific coffee facts on their own site (origins, producers, process or roast style), and (3) have at least one independent signal: a competition result, an award or coverage by a named publication. Each entry links to its sources. Ties were broken by editorial judgment. Checked on 3 October 2026 by PremiumRoast editors. No paid placement: no roaster paid to be included or ranked, and claiming a listing never changes ranking. Know a roaster we missed? Suggest it from any roaster page and we will check it against the same standard.
