Top Coffee Roasters in Norway

Norway is the country that defined modern light-roast filter coffee. Oslo in particular has produced more World Barista and World Brewers Cup champions per capita than anywhere else, and the roasting style that emerged from it set the global template through the 2010s.

  1. 1
    Tim Wendelboe
    Oslo, Norway

  2. 2
    Solberg & Hansen
    Oslo, Norway

Oslo's historical anchor. Founded 1879 and serious about specialty for two decades; still the reference roaster many cafes default to.

  3. 3
    Kaffa
    Oslo, Norway

A bedrock Oslo roastery and a fixture of the city's specialty cafe supply. Robert Thoresen's long influence shows in the consistency.

  4. 4

Co-founded by Odd-Steinar Tollefsen. Punches above its size with a roasting program that has placed multiple Norwegian baristas on the world stage.

  5. 5
    Jacu Coffee Roastery
    Ålesund, Norway

Norway's premier roaster outside Oslo. Alesund-based, with a small-batch program that has steadily collected international recognition.

Oslo roastery built around an obsessive lot-by-lot approach. A reliable bet for unusual processed coffees.
