Iced Brown Sugar Oat Latte

The viral drink — better than the chain version

Brown Sugar Syrup

The secret is real brown sugar syrup with cinnamon.

  1. 01Combine ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup water, and 2 cinnamon sticks in a saucepan.
  2. 02Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. 03Simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cinnamon steep for 10 minutes.
  4. 04Strain into a jar. Keeps for 3 weeks in the fridge.

Assembly

  1. 01Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar cinnamon syrup to a glass.
  2. 02Fill with ice.
  3. 03Pull a double shot of espresso (or brew 3oz strong coffee).
  4. 04Pour espresso over ice — it will swirl beautifully.
  5. 05Top with 8oz of oat milk (Oatly Barista Edition froths and pours best).
  6. 06Stir gently and enjoy. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if you're fancy.
