Brown Sugar Syrup
The secret is real brown sugar syrup with cinnamon.
- 01Combine ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup water, and 2 cinnamon sticks in a saucepan.
- 02Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- 03Simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cinnamon steep for 10 minutes.
- 04Strain into a jar. Keeps for 3 weeks in the fridge.
Assembly
- 01Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar cinnamon syrup to a glass.
- 02Fill with ice.
- 03Pull a double shot of espresso (or brew 3oz strong coffee).
- 04Pour espresso over ice — it will swirl beautifully.
